Faces of Belonging
A silent 30-second brand manifesto that turns a sequence of direct-gaze portraits into a collective message through centered text and split-face composites.
Field notes / why it works
An iris fills frame one, and three cuts in the first three seconds reveal a face and the opening claim before the viewer can settle. From 0:08 to 0:26, aligned full and split faces turn short centered phrases into visible human examples; the strongest replay peak at 0:05.3–0:05.6 coincides with a portrait change. The flat coral card at 0:26 gives the campaign tag four seconds to land.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A 30-second, speech-free brand manifesto uses direct-to-camera portraits and short centered statements to make a broad promise of inclusion. It opens inside an eye, moves from individuals to paired faces, and resolves to a solid-color hashtag card. The visual engine is faces that change while the sentence continues.
Why it works
- The first picture changes at 0:00.67; three cuts in the first three seconds carry the viewer from an eye macro to a readable human face and the opening claim.
- The main sentence stays centered while ages and appearances change from 0:03.6 to 0:26; the people become the proof of the abstract claim.
- The strongest replay point is 0:05.3–0:05.6, where one face gives way to another as the text shifts from identity toward place. This is a correlation, not proof of why viewers replayed.

| Reference pattern | |
|---|---|
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 640×360 source · 30.0 s · 24 fps |
| Pace | 10 measured shots, 9 cuts; 18–26 possible cuts/min including uncertain transitions; 24 picture changes/min; mean shot 3.01 s, median 1.54 s |
| Script | About 25–35 on-screen words (visual estimate); zero spoken words, so spoken WPM is not applicable |
| Voice | None. Every claim is carried by on-screen type. |
| On screen | Roughly 87% face and eye portraits, 13% solid-color end card by duration; later face composites and split screens are within the portrait portion |
| Text | White, bold rounded sans, centered over faces; short 1–4-word fragments, no subtitle box |
| Sound | Low, continuous tonal music-like bed (measured); no clear cut-synced effects; −24.4 LUFS integrated, −8.2 dBFS true peak |
| Structure | Eye hook → promise → identity/place/love/belief examples → collective payoff → coral hashtag and logo card |
