Phone (2) Feature Launch Film
A four-minute phone launch film that turns a dot motif into live-action feature proof, readable UI demos, and tactile hardware shots.
Field notes / why it works
The first five seconds transform one black circle into a dot field before the product reveal, giving the film a visual identity immediately. Claims get distinct proof: live movement and camera UI peak at 1:10–1:30, while slower home-screen customization at 2:16–2:19 is the most replayed moment. Two narration-free resets around 0:42–0:49 and 1:40–1:46 keep the 558-word, 3:59 film from feeling like one continuous spec list.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A 16:9 launch film introduces a phone through an abstract dot animation, then alternates tangible product details, real people using features, and clean UI demonstrations. It promises more intentional everyday use by moving from a signature physical feature (0:05–0:49), to camera proof (0:49–1:46), software customization (1:46–2:37), premium build and performance (2:37–3:20), and sustainability (3:20–3:59).
Why it works
- The first 3 seconds show only a black dot expanding and multiplying on white. The spoken product name waits until 0:03.1, making the graphic identity the initial hook.
- Every benefit gets a visual form: light notifications and timer UI by 0:32, moving subjects filmed through the camera UI around 1:10–1:40, and app-grid settings around 2:16–2:20.
- The 2:16.2–2:18.6 replay peak coincides with the icon theme and home-screen customization, suggesting viewers returned to inspect a usable interface rather than just the beauty shots (inferred).
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 1280×720, 16:9 · 25 fps · 3:59 |
| Pace | 109 measured shots, 108 cuts; 27.1–31.6 cuts/min including uncertain changes; 34.6 picture changes/min; mean shot 2.19 s, median 1.16 s. The opening holds until 0:04.9, and the final shot lasts 17.8 s. |
| Script | 558 spoken words; 145 wpm across runtime, about 192 wpm while speaking; 33 sentences averaging 16.9 words; one question; 31 number mentions. |
| Voice | One cool, precise, medium-register narrator; polished but conversational; speech carries the product claims. |
| On screen | Approx. 40% interface/graphic demonstrations, 30% live-action benefit scenes, 30% product renders and macro details (estimated from sampled sheets). No presenter address to camera. |
| Captions | No persistent speech captions. Small UI labels and occasional product text are part of the design. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal/electronic music-like bed, about 10 dB below speech; no clear evidence of cut-synced effects. Measured −10.7 LUFS integrated, +0.7 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Five chapters plus opening and closing; two near-silent narration breaks at 0:40–0:49 and 1:40–1:46; no explicit sales CTA. |
