Three Ways to Experience Rome
A 36-second destination promo turns sightseeing into three host-led experiences through rapid, tactile visual proof.
Field notes / why it works
A giant opening challenge gives way to a numbered three-part promise by 0:02.2, so the viewer knows the structure immediately. The 44 shots in 36.5 seconds make each experience tangible through performers, food-making details, and conservators at work; the strongest replay peak at 0:33.3–0:33.7 coincides with the closing invitation.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A destination brand film turns the passive act of looking at a place into three concrete things a visitor can do. A huge statement over cultural imagery becomes a numbered promise by 0:02.2; three mini-worlds then move from theatrical history (0:03–0:11.9), to food made by hand (0:11.9–0:23.4), to art conservation (0:23.4–0:33.2), before the promise returns as the closing brand line.
Why it works
- The headline is readable immediately: white, uppercase type fills the first statue shot at 0:00–0:01.1, then a large 3 promises a bounded list by 0:01.1.
- Each section changes subject and visual language: costume drama, close food textures, then painterly artworks and conservators, with numbered pivots around 0:03, 0:11.9 and 0:23.4.
- The closing statement at 0:33.2–0:36.5 matches the opening idea; the strongest replay peak is 0:33.3–0:33.7, when that line appears over triptych art.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 36.5 s · supplied copy 640×360 at 30 fps |
| Pace | 44 detected shots, 43 cuts; 70.7–75.6 cuts/min including three uncertain changes; mean shot 0.83 s, median 0.81 s; 72.3 picture changes/min |
| Script | 110 recognized words, 183 wpm overall / 210 while speaking; 10 measured sentences, about 11 words each; recognition is unreliable around some proper nouns and dialogue |
| Voice | Brisk, animated, higher-register English voiceover archetype; short performance/dialogue moments may be present, but the sheets alone do not identify speakers |
| On screen | Predominantly live-action location, people, food and craft footage; artwork/still-image inserts; a few designed typography, split-screen and diagram moments |
| Captions | No continuous subtitles; large headline, numbered section labels and short editorial callouts in white sans serif |
| Sound | Continuous tonal/music-like bed detected; no clear repeatable cut SFX; −16.5 LUFS integrated, −6.7 dBFS true peak |
| Structure | Hook/list promise → 3 themed demonstrations → closing brand line; no separate end card in the supplied frames |
