The Hidden Cost of a Ride
A 42-second cinematic comedy turns social guilt into a price tag, then reveals a cheaper ride and closes on one dry line of advice.
Field notes / why it works
The moving car and warm salon exchange establish the choice in the first 14 seconds, then the empty night street sharply changes the stakes. Sparse white cards turn an imagined 200 zł social cost at about 0:24 into a concrete 26 zł ride at about 0:32; the advice at about 0:36 makes the comparison actionable before the 3.8-second logo close.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A short, cinematic two-person comedy turns an ordinary spending decision into a much larger imagined social cost. The product becomes the relief: an explicit, smaller price appears near the end, followed by one dry line of advice and a plain logo close. The reference withholds the monetary contrast until roughly 0:24–0:35.
Why it works
- The first 13.9 s builds an everyday scene through a moving car, salon doorway and alternating close-ups before any selling copy appears.
- The night walk changes the mood at about 0:14; the 200 zł “guilt” card at about 0:24 gives the imagined consequence a number.
- The 26 zł ride card at about 0:32 answers that number; advice at about 0:36 and the logo at about 0:38 make the action clear.

| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 42.0 s · source measured at 640×360, 25 fps |
| Pace | 14 detected shots, 13 detected cuts = 18.6/min; 4 detected internal text/picture changes = 24.3 changes/min; mean shot 3.0 s, median 2.32 s. The dark street passage appears to contain additional camera setups the detector grouped together. |
| Script | 51 machine-transcribed words, approximately 85 wpm over the full runtime and 126 wpm while speech is present. The language detector incorrectly returned French for a Polish ad, so these are rough speech estimates, not a reliable transcript. |
| Voice | Conversational dialogue between two adult women; one reacts with concern, the other plays the understated foil. No narrator. |
| On screen | Live-action street, shop doorway and character close-ups; about 60% night exterior, 33% warm doorway/interior, 7% closing brand shot (approximate from frames). |
| Captions | No running dialogue subtitles. Sparse centered white sentence-case cards appear during the payoff: imagined cost, added social cost, actual product price, advice. |
| Sound | Continuous quiet tonal bed detected at about −21.9 dBFS, approximately 5.2 dB below speech; no clear cut-synced effects. Master measured −13.0 LUFS, −2.6 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Establish → character exchange → darker imagined consequence → two cost cards → product price → advice → brand close. |
