Puerto Rico’s Solar-Powered Community Story
A customer-led mini documentary moves from local outages to home backup and a community power network, using fast proof footage over calm Spanish interviews.
Field notes / why it works
The opening grounds an abstract grid problem in city and street imagery within 3 seconds, then shows storm damage by 0:17. The edit makes a clear proof ladder from rooftop solar around 0:56 to household backup at 1:13 and phone controls at 1:48, before the community payoff at 1:58—the most-replayed interval. Ninety-four shots across 2:51 keep the film moving while the voices remain natural.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A short, place-specific customer documentary begins with an everyday infrastructure problem, then shows the product working in a home, and finally expands the benefit to the wider community. The first 55 seconds build the need; the next 30 show personal peace of mind; the final minute explains participation in a shared system.
Why it works
- The problem is local and visual: aerial city views at 0:00, street and damaged-grid images by 0:12–0:20, then flood and storm aftermath at 0:17–0:21.
- The product proof is domestic: roof panels at 0:36 and 0:56, batteries at 1:13–1:20, a household moment at 1:25, an app at 1:48 and 2:12.
- It widens the stakes from “my family has power” at 1:20–1:26 to “part of the solution” around 1:58 and community resilience at 2:26–2:42. The 1:58 line is the top replayed region.
