Spot's wordless capability reveal
A quadruped introduction escalates from a size-comparison walk to manipulation, fall recovery, and outdoor running.
Field notes / why it works
The moving small robot stands out against larger static machines in the first 3 seconds, making the product legible without a title card. Long wide views let each capability prove itself; the 1:28.8–1:30.3 replay peak lands on the fall, which turns into a recovery payoff by about 1:43. Outdoor running at 1:54 expands the promise once more.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A wordless, wide-screen introduction lets a compact quadruped walk out of a lineup, move through a furnished test space, manipulate objects, lose and regain balance, and run outdoors. The promise arrives visually by 0:03: this machine moves in the real world; each later setting increases what the viewer thinks it can do.
Why it works
- The opening uses scale contrast: a small moving robot among larger stationary machines by 0:03.
- Actions prove claims without narration: room navigation around 0:30–0:45, arm work around 0:52–1:24, recovery around 1:29–1:43, outdoor motion around 1:54–2:02.
- The strongest replay peak is 1:28.8–1:30.3, when the machine falls. Its recovery converts an apparent failure into proof.
