Synthesizer Performance and Feature Reveal
A music-led synthesizer launch film that alternates expressive performance with readable technical proof.
Field notes / why it works
The opening holds one blue-backlit performance shot for 3.67 seconds, letting the product's use and sound establish the hook. Short feature labels appear over the actual controls and connectors from about 0:20 to 0:56; the 0:55 rear-port closeup is the most replayed span. A faster run of cuts after 0:56 drives into the hero claim at 1:09 and a six-second brand card.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A dark, blue-lit musician performs on a compact synthesizer. The first 18 seconds sell the experience through hands, keys and movement; the next 50 seconds alternate live performance with close views and spare feature labels, ending in a product slogan and black brand card. The promise is that {{PRODUCT}} is expressive in use and has specific capabilities worth investigating.
Why it works
- The 0:00–0:03.7 single silhouette shot lets the track and hands establish mood before the first cut; the opening asks viewers to listen as much as look.
- Around 0:20, 0:25, 0:34, 0:40, 0:46, 0:52 and 0:54, closeups and small white labels give concrete reasons to care without interrupting the performance.
- The most replayed span, 0:55.1–0:55.9, holds on rear connections and a readable port label. Viewers appear to inspect a specific capability (inferred), while the late rapid cuts at 0:56–0:57 renew momentum.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 80.1 s, source measured at 640×360 and 23.98 fps |
| Pace | 33 shots; 32 firm cuts, 24.0–26.2 cuts/min including uncertain changes; 30 picture changes/min including text steps; mean shot 2.43 s, median 2.21 s |
| Script | Almost entirely visual. Seven short feature labels plus closing slogan and brand card; no reliable explanatory narration. A low-confidence four-word transcription at 0:22.8 may be incidental audio. |
| Voice | None required; any incidental vocal should remain part of the music, not a presenter track |
| On screen | Approximately 60% live performance, 35% instrument/detail closeups and 5% final packshot/brand card (inferred from the sheets) |
| Captions | No speech subtitles; thin white feature callouts, usually one line near the top of the frame |
| Sound | Continuous music-forward electronic track, roughly 80 BPM by measurement; no clear cut-synced effects; −13.1 LUFS measured |
| Structure | Atmosphere → product reveal → feature/performance alternation → hero statement → brand stop; payoff slogan about 1:09–1:14, final logo about 1:14 |
