A glowing search bar becomes a cinematic catch-up
A search-led entertainment promo that turns one typed recap request into escalating trailer footage and a rapid question montage.
Field notes / why it works
One glowing red stroke carries the first 10 seconds without a cut, then resolves into a typed search request that makes the product action instantly clear. After the 21.36-second opening shot, the edit accelerates to seven cuts from 0:45–0:50, while repeated short stakes phrases and the returning search bar turn the recap into useful viewer questions. The strongest replay peak at 0:42.2–0:42.8 lands on the action-heavy sacrifice beat.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A glowing search stroke draws the viewer into a dark, cinematic world. A typed request triggers a compressed, dramatic recap; near the end, the same search bar reappears over quick footage as a series of questions the viewer might ask. The promise is practical catch-up made to feel like a film trailer, established by the complete search request around 0:11–0:18.
Why it works
- The visual hook is nearly wordless: one red-orange line changes shape for the first 10 seconds before resolving into a branded search interaction at 0:10.7. Its motion carries the opening despite zero cuts in the first 21.4 seconds.
- The pacing accelerates with the stakes: a 21.36-second opening shot gives way to 26 total shots, with seven cuts in the 0:45–0:50 window.
- The search interface becomes a repeatable framing device: the prompt at 0:11–0:18 returns as several queries at 0:48–0:57. The first replay peak, 0:42.2–0:42.8, coincides with the rapid “Every sacrifice” montage.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Reference specification | |
|---|---|
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 61.0 s · source sampled at 640×360, 23.98 fps |
| Pace | 26 shots; 25 detected cuts = 24.6 cuts/min, or up to 28.5 with uncertain changes; 26.5 detected picture changes/min; mean shot 2.35 s, median 0.98 s |
| Script | Sparse trailer dialogue, about 24 automatically transcribed words; 38 wpm across the film, about 140 wpm while people speak. On-screen prose and queries carry most of the message. |
| Voice | Brief, varied dramatic character voices in footage; no continuous narrator. Automated pitch statistics combine several speakers and music, so they are not useful direction for one voice. |
| On screen | Roughly first third designed glowing search/typing; middle third live-action story imagery plus oversized kinetic type; final third quick footage and search overlays, then end card. This is a visual estimate from the sheets. |
| Captions | Editorial keyword overlays, not full subtitles: white or warm ivory sans, selected words glowing red-orange, mostly centre frame. |
| Sound | Continuous cinematic bed, estimated 83 BPM from the opening; sparse dialogue; no reliable cut-synced effect pattern. −14.5 LUFS integrated, −1.0 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Drawn hook → search request → compressed story → escalating stakes → query montage → title/end card. No spoken CTA. |
