Bitcoin Made Simple with Paper Cutouts
A 205-second narrated explainer turns a complex payment system into moving paper props, visible handwork, and color-coded chapters.
Field notes / why it works
The visual puzzle resolves into a logo by 0:03, then a hand-built topic promise appears around 0:09 before the narrator starts at 0:13.8. Paper props make abstract steps concrete: the 0:16–0:18 definition is the strongest replay peak, while the payment failure at 0:48 and shared-record board at 1:14–1:30 carry harder ideas. A new risk chapter at 2:23 resets the argument before a conditional conclusion.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A brisk editorial narrator explains a difficult idea through overhead paper shapes, handwritten labels, visible hands, and simple physical metaphors. A friction point leads to a proposed mechanism, then concrete uses, caveats, and a measured closing implication. The promise becomes explicit when the topic title appears around 0:09 and the first explanatory sentence starts at 0:13.8.
Why it works
- The 0:00–0:03 mosaic-to-logo animation earns a few seconds of attention before the topic card arrives at 0:09.
- Every abstract step gains a concrete prop: payment device at 0:24, error screen at 0:48, distributed faces/ledger at 1:14–1:30. The most replayed span, 0:16.4–0:18.4, pairs the first plain-language definition with a coin breaking into a lock/threat metaphor.
- The argument changes direction at 0:44 (“another problem”), 1:50 (real-world consequences), and 2:23 (problems and uncertainty), keeping a 3:24 explainer from becoming one uninterrupted list of benefits.
