Wool's Journey Into a Shoe

A tactile brand film follows wool from sheep through washing and craft to a delayed shoe reveal.

Field notes / why it works

The flock moves within a single 6.2-second opening shot, and the first cut to tactile fleece coincides with the largest replay peak at 0:06.0–0:06.8. Suds, hands, soft batts, craft details and a brief playful detour make the transformation readable without explanatory captions. The first clear shoe waits until 1:00.1, then rapid variants lead to a simple end proposition at 1:10.8.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A miniature visual journey turns an ordinary raw material into a desirable finished product. It opens on a living source, makes the material's texture almost palpable, passes through a lightly playful processing sequence, and withholds the product until about 1:00. The promise is made visually by the wool at 0:06 and stated plainly on the landscape end frame at 1:10.8.

Why it works

  • The 0:00–0:06.2 flock is full of movement without a cut; the first cut lands on a close view of loose fleece at the largest replay peak (0:06.0–0:06.8).
  • The middle changes scale and meaning repeatedly: suds at 0:14, soft white batts at 0:32, a child and puppies at 0:35–0:43, then thin fiber at 0:44. This keeps an otherwise linear process surprising.
  • The shoe is delayed until 1:00.1, followed by rapid color and foot-on-floor views at 1:05–1:06.6. The last hill frame turns the visual evidence into a four-word proposition.
