Field notes / why it works

Two black title cards establish a person-versus-commute contest by 2.9 seconds, making the low shoe and street shots feel like proof of a story. Five measured cuts land before 10 seconds, including a 0.33-second insert at 8.2, before the athlete portrait at 11 seconds and a clean product/logo finish from 14.1 seconds.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A miniature sports film frames an everyday environment as an opponent. Quiet, black title cards set up the matchup; quick ground-level product details and street movement lead to a brief hero portrait, then a wordmark and logo end card. The product is sold through motion and attitude rather than specifications.

Why it works

  • The first 2.9 s establish a story with only two title cards: a presenter credit, then a person-versus-environment matchup. That gives the following footage a purpose.
  • The middle changes fastest: five measured cuts occur before 10 s, with moving feet, street texture, and a 0.33 s insert at 8.2 s.
  • The final roughly 4.4 s switch to sparse black product and logo cards, letting the name register after the moving footage; the visible logo swap is around 17.0 s.
