Duo's Squid Game Entrance
A 30-second cinematic crossover teaser delays an absurd mascot reveal through ranks of guards, fog and oversized footsteps.
Field notes / why it works
Four cuts in the first three seconds turn a faceless guard formation into a visual question. The film withholds its central character until about 0:21, using fog, boots and two guards' reaction; the strongest replay spike lands at 0:18.0–0:18.3 during that delayed entrance. A bright, rounded mascot against severe pink ranks supplies the payoff before a four-second co-brand card explains the campaign.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A severe, recognizable fictional world appears to be preparing for an important arrival. The camera withholds the visitor through a 21-second guard procession, then reveals a cute, bulky mascot whose shape contradicts the setting's menace. The closing card turns that joke into a campaign announcement and a light product threat.
Why it works
- The opening has four cuts in three seconds but no explanatory text; a faceless guard and repeated pink figures make a visual question immediately (0:00–0:03).
- The visitor stays unseen through formation, corridor and fog shots (0:03–0:21). The top replay spike is at 0:18.0–0:18.3, on the boot entrance and guard reaction.
- The hero image at 0:22.9 puts one bright, round character between rigid ranks. The 0:24.6–0:28.6 card resolves the campaign while keeping the joke compact.
