A scenic launch film for a pocket-size drone
A two-minute drone launch that pairs rapid outdoor proof with tactile hardware shots, sparse specs and a long brand finish.
Field notes / why it works
The first 3 seconds sell the footage the product can create before the product reveal at 0:10. Feature chapters alternate the claim with a visible outcome, and the edit runs at 37.5–41 cuts per minute while allowing a 10-second beauty hold at 0:10 and a slow brand ending. The strongest replay at 1:25.9–1:27.1 falls on tactile unfolding and takeoff views.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A premium landscape launch film opens with the results a tiny product can create: a sunlit aerial coastline, a lone kayaker, then people in an alpine landscape (0:00–0:03). It identifies the compact camera product by 0:10 and alternates feature labels, in-hand hardware, and aspirational footage, ending with an emotional size-versus-capability line and a quiet brand card.
Why it works
- The viewer sees the desired footage before the product is named: the first three shots span coast, kayak and mountain at 0:00–0:04.
- Each specification gets a physical or visual consequence: sensor and landscape at 0:10–0:20, obstacle sensing and forest/night at 0:34–0:44, gimbal and vertical output at 0:47–1:00.
- Small-product handling punctuates the scenery: the most replayed interval, 1:25.9–1:27.1, is a close view of a hand unfolding the drone and a low product takeoff view.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 2:00 · source analysis 640×360 at 25 fps |
| Pace | 76 detected shots, 37.5–41 cuts/min including uncertain changes, 43 picture changes/min; mean 1.58 s, median 0.94 s. The final card creates a long tail. |
| Script | 179 detected words, about 90 wpm over the whole film, about 157 wpm while speaking; 15 sentences averaging 11.9 words; no questions. The stray final “You” at 1:58.6 appears to be a transcription artifact. |
| Voice | One polished, mid-register, animated commercial narrator; no on-camera presenter. |
| On screen | Roughly 40% aspirational scenery/action, 30% product use and close-ups, 15% feature/example graphics, 15% end branding (estimated from sheets and the 18 s final hold). |
| Captions | No speech captions. Sparse, small white uppercase feature names and specifications; a larger product name near 0:10. |
| Sound | Continuous cinematic, music-like bed, roughly 117 BPM; measured −17.0 LUFS, −1.3 dBFS true peak. No consistently identifiable cut effects. |
| Structure | Scenic outcome → product reveal → seven feature/proof clusters → human benefit → long logo sign-off. No spoken CTA. |
