Blade 18 performance launch film
A 33-second laptop launch film that stacks AI performance proof over fast human and hardware imagery, then lands on a clean hero.
Field notes / why it works
The laptop lifts from the desk in the first 2.2 seconds, followed by a full-screen performance promise by about 0:02.5. GPU, AI, cooling, and display claims each get a distinct proof image, while the 0:15–0:25 section accelerates to 12 cuts before the 0:29.9 product and logo close.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A dark, high-energy hardware launch film turns one product into a sequence of visible performance claims. It opens with a product levitation reveal, accelerates through game, AI, cooling, and display proof, then returns to a clean product hero and two black-background brand marks.
Why it works
- The closed laptop lifts off the desk during the first 2.2 seconds; the title and luminous green edge sell the object before any specification appears.
- Feature cards arrive amid relevant images: GPU at 0:08.6, inference at 0:16–0:18, image generation at 0:19.8–0:21.9, cooling at 0:23.9, and dual-mode display at 0:28.4.
- The busiest edit is 0:15–0:25 (12 cuts across two 5-second bins), then the picture slows for the hero and logos. The most-replayed interval, 0:31.0–0:31.4, lands on the brand transition.

| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 32.6 s · source measured at 640×360, 25 fps |
| Pace | 25 detected shots · 44.2–55.3 possible cuts/min · 46 picture changes/min measured · mean 1.3 s, median 0.72 s per shot |
| Script | No discernible product narration. The automated 67-word transcript reads as music lyrics and is unreliable as dialogue. Claims are on-screen text. |
| Voice | Vocal-led music, with no identifiable spoken presenter (inferred from transcript and frames) |
| On screen | Roughly 45% live-action product/people, 35% abstract feature visualization, 20% product hero/branding (estimated from sheet tiles) |
| Captions | No dialogue subtitles; uppercase feature headlines and small support labels |
| Sound | Loud, continuous tonal music bed; measured −8.6 LUFS integrated, +0.7 dBFS true peak. Individual cut SFX are not clearly supported by the measurements. |
| Structure | Five beats: lift and brand → performance → AI workflow → cooling/display → product and logo close. No in-video CTA. |
