Six life trends drawn as sound-driven graphs

A 24-second vertical motion graphic cycles through six colour-coded life and history trends, ending on two stark war-death spikes.

Field notes / why it works

The premise is visible at 0:00 and the first dot moves by 0:00.25, so viewers immediately understand the visual experiment. Six roughly four-second chapters reuse the same axes and live year/value readout while changing colour, shape and icon; the final red war graph spikes at 0:20.8–0:21.4, and its opening overlaps the measured most-replayed moment at 0:20.4–0:20.6.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A vertical black canvas asks viewers to imagine what data graphs sound like, then plays six animated time series in roughly four-second chapters. Each chapter keeps the same axes, moving dot, year and value readout; a new accent colour, title and ghosted icon identify the next measure.

Why it works

  • The premise is legible in the white title pill at 0:00, while the first point is already moving by 0:00.25.
  • A year/value readout under each graph turns abstract lines into quick reveals: births per woman reaches 2.25 at 0:03.9; cars per 1,000 people reaches 200 at 0:19.6.
  • The final red graph abruptly spikes twice around the world wars at 0:20.8–0:21.4. Its opening at 0:20.4–0:20.6 is the measured most-replayed moment; top comments focus on those spikes.

PaceOne continuous designed shot, zero hard cuts (0 cuts/min); six graph chapters about 4 s each; one automated picture step detected near 0:12
ScriptNo reliable spoken script. Five Whisper tokens are ellipses/noise; the actual information is on screen.
VoiceNone verified; use instrumental/tonal audio without narration
On screen100% motion graphics: persistent graph frame, line, moving dot, labels, number and faint icon
CaptionsNo speech captions; fixed title pill, chapter headings and numerical readouts
SoundLoud, rhythmic audio; estimated 121 BPM at low confidence; measured −6.3 LUFS integrated, −3.5 dBFS true peak
StructureSix ~4 s chapters; the last, highest contrast war graph is the payoff; no CTA
