The Price of Regret
A 45-second live-action street story turns a balloon mishap into a delayed price comparison and quiet app reminder.
Field notes / why it works
The first 2.55 seconds present two people and conspicuous gold balloons without explaining the errand, giving the viewer a simple visual question. Across 20 shots in 44.6 seconds, the prop's mishap becomes legible before a regret price appears around 0:25; a smaller ride price at 0:35 and spoken next-time CTA at 0:37–0:41 make the product point feel earned.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A polished, lightly comic street scene begins with a celebratory object and two people carrying it. A small physical failure turns that object into the visual punchline. Only late in the film do two plain price captions reveal the comparison: the mistake's cost versus the product's smaller cost. The final spoken reminder and logo state what to do next time.
Why it works
- Picture first: a passing car reveals the brick storefront and conspicuous gold number balloons from 0:00–0:02.6; no opening title or spoken setup competes with the object.
- Visible consequence: the balloons recur in 12 of the first 15 shot samples, then separate from the people around 0:21–0:27. The prop gives the viewer a question to follow before the price appears.
- Late price contrast: the regret caption lands around 0:25, the ride price around 0:35, and the action line around 0:37–0:41. The answer is delayed until the audience understands the mishap.

|---|---|
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 640×360 capture, 25 fps · 44.6 s |
| Pace | 20 shots, 19 cuts, 25.6 cuts/min, 2.23 s average shot; no measured within-shot graphic steps |
| Script | Sparse dialogue; automated transcript reports 17 words and 29 overall wpm, but misdetects Portuguese as French, so the word count and voice statistics are unreliable. Keep new dialogue to roughly 20–40 spoken words. |
| Voice | Two natural conversational adult voices, one brighter and expressive, one lower and restrained (inferred from the characters and speech timing; detailed timbre was not verified) |
| On screen | About 80% two-character street action/reactions, 10% prop/sky inserts, 10% city and car wides (estimated from shot samples) |
| Captions | No running subtitles. Only a short story subtitle near 0:30, centered white price lines near 0:25 and 0:35, then a short CTA over the final walking scene. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal, melodic bed (measured as music-like), with street ambience and dialogue; no clear hit on most cuts. −12.9 LUFS integrated, −2.7 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | 5 beats: situate → bond → mishap → price contrast → spoken instruction and logo. Payoff begins ~0:25; CTA ~0:37; hard branded end at ~0:41. |
