Field notes / why it works

The opening parcels an announcement into new text beats at 0.25, 0.75, 1.50, and 1.75 seconds, then multiplies the name by 2.0 seconds; the strongest replay point is at 1.3–1.4 seconds. Black-and-white reversals, a sparse line section, and an outlined clue around 8.3 seconds keep the 13.9-second text-only piece changing before the release card at 9.4 seconds and logo at 12.0 seconds.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A silent-voice, music-led announcement made almost entirely of kinetic typography. It withholds the product identity for roughly 1.7 seconds, repeats it in a grayscale stack, gives the viewer one cryptic phrase, and ends on a release tease and brand mark. The initial promise is the announcement itself, made explicit by the word “NEW” at 1.5 seconds and the product name at 1.75 seconds.

Why it works

  • The first three seconds break one simple announcement into several reveals: an opening verb at 0.25, a linking word at 0.75, a large “NEW” at 1.5, then the name at 1.75. The name multiplies by 2.0, rewarding continued attention.
  • Black and white reverse at about 3.0 and 9.4 seconds. A thin line and outline lettering in the middle create a fresh visual question without adding footage (inferred).
  • The 1.3–1.4-second opening is the strongest measured replay point (0.92); a smaller replay signal appears at 8.8–9.0 seconds (0.30), during the outlined phrase.
