A Storybook Quest Becomes a Dice Combat Reveal

A theatrical game launch trailer turns a dark fable into a step-by-step combat reveal and finishes on a clean preorder card.

Field notes / why it works

A nearly black emblem holds the first 5.5 seconds while narration creates a fable, and the giant creature at 0:16.6–0:18.3 matches the strongest replay peak. The middle makes the rules visible in sequence—resources, cards, slingshot, dice power—before a 1:41–2:03 action payoff, then gives the logo and preorder card 14 seconds to land.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

An illustrated, theatrical narrator opens with a tiny fable, then real gameplay proves the world and its central mechanic. A fast combat montage raises energy before the larger quest returns and a sparse branded card closes the film.

Why it works

  • The first 5.5 seconds spend one shot on an unexplained emblem while the storyteller begins at 1.0; mystery precedes exposition.
  • The peak at 0:16.6–0:18.3 coincides with a giant creature interrupting a two-character scene; the replay signal supports this visual surprise.
  • Mechanic explanation from 1:02–1:40 moves from currency to cards to slingshot to a time-freezing dice action, then 1:41–2:03 shows the combat payoff.
