Field notes / why it works

A person-to-copy diagram turns the abstract identity question into a visible dilemma by 0:15, the strongest replay peak (0:15.7–0:16.9). A real mechanism enters around 0:42, then the rule at 1:13 reframes the opening image; the 1:49 conclusion earns a second replay peak. Dense narration (205 wpm) remains legible because each clause gets a simple marker action and colour is used sparingly.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A fast, friendly narrator poses a familiar thought experiment, draws its uncomfortable consequence, then introduces a real scientific constraint that changes the answer. A hand, black marker, sparse colour, and evolving diagrams make abstract reasoning feel like it is being worked out in front of the viewer.

Why it works

  • The opening logo gives way to the premise by 0:07; a person dissolving and a second person appearing make the stakes visible by 0:15.
  • The 0:15.7–0:16.9 replay peak sits on the apparent death-and-copy dilemma, where the central question becomes concrete.
  • The 1:13 turn introduces a constraint, then rapid diagrams and the large “No cloning!” label at 1:29 deliver an answer the viewer can remember.
