From Expensive App Builds to a Free Start
A vertical product ad moves from a historical cost timeline to a human-led free-plan reveal.
Field notes / why it works
The opening question starts at 0:00, and three cuts by 0:03 connect the concern to a phone and a visible build. A 13.7-second changing cost graphic makes the past-to-present contrast legible before the 0:16.6 reversal. Hands-on laptop footage from 0:22 leads to the product and a 3.7-second CTA card, though the historical numbers need independent sourcing before reuse.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A warm, quick presenter asks a cost question at 0:00. A phone and code flash by in the first three seconds; a stark three-era cost graphic occupies 0:02.8–0:16.6. The answer turns at 0:16.6 from historical expense to today's accessible workflow, with live-action proof and a branded offer at 0:33.
Why it works
- The question is spoken from frame one, and three cuts arrive by 0:03, turning an abstract concern into a phone and a visible build process.
- The long graphic makes the contrast legible: historical bars and labels change within one 13.7 s shot, so the viewer can compare eras before the 0:16.6 reversal.
- The offer comes after use-case context: presenter, model graphic, hands on laptop, then the final product page and CTA between 0:17.9 and 0:36.6. The comments also challenge the historical numbers, so a recreation should source its own comparisons.
