HyperIsland phone and UI reveal
A 36-second Xiaomi product film that moves from a dark handset silhouette through animated UI proof to a bright two-phone hero and minimal logo close.
Field notes / why it works
A near-black hardware tease becomes a lit home screen by 2.25 seconds, then timer and recording states at 14.7–18.4 seconds show what the feature does before it is named. The switch to a pale two-device hero at about 28.7 seconds gives the payoff a strong contrast; replay peaks at 23.8–24.1 seconds and on the 34.2–34.6-second logo hold.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A premium 16:9 phone film introduces a device as a silhouette, turns it toward the viewer, then proves a small interface feature through timer, audio and notification states. It finishes with a wider brand and product reveal. The promise becomes legible around 14–16 s, when the floating status area expands into usable controls; a title card at about 23 s names the feature.
Why it works
- The nearly black opening reveals just the camera cluster at 0:00.25–1:00, creating curiosity before the illuminated screen appears at 2:25.
- Several specific UI states make the feature tangible: a timer at 14:7, audio recording at 16:6 and a floating card at 18:4.
- The film alternates dark interface proof with a pale product beauty shot at 28:7–31:3. Replay peaks at 23:8–24:1 and 34:2–34:6 align with the feature montage and logo end card, though a replay peak alone does not prove why viewers returned.
