Field notes / why it works

The first second sets up two contrasting characters without text or dialogue, and the eager dog's pose changes keep the meeting active through 0:03. The escalating leash orbit at 0:15–0:18 contains the strongest replay peak (0:16.4–0:16.7); a clean product card at about 0:28 gives the 30-second story a memorable branded close.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A quiet, hand-drawn cartoon opens on two dogs meeting in a sparse park. One dog's increasingly frantic motion creates a physical gag around its walker's leash; the story resolves into a friendly interaction, then a clean product pack shot and tagline. The promise is a small comic story, established visually by the dogs' first encounter at 0:00–0:01; the brand arrives only at 0:28.

Why it works

  • The opening needs no exposition: the dogs close the gap nose-to-nose in the first second, then one bounces and bows at 0:01.25–0:02.75.
  • The leash gag escalates through a legible sequence at 0:15.4–0:17.7; 0:16.4–0:16.7 is the strongest replay peak.
  • The can and tagline appear after the story at about 0:28.2, giving the 30-second film a distinct payoff and brand recall moment.
