From Tool Clutter to One Workspace
A 19-second SaaS demo turns scattered-tool frustration into a rapid tour of calendar, board, timeline and table views.
Field notes / why it works
The pain statement is spoken by 2.1 seconds while floating app icons make tool overload immediately visible. A live-action user bridges to a clear calendar reveal at 5.2–5.4 seconds, the strongest replayed region, then four contrasting UI views show breadth before the sparse CTA at 16.4 seconds.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A 19-second, wide SaaS ad opens with the pain of juggling tools, then shows a person using one workspace and cycles through animated calendar, board, timeline and table views. It closes on a product identity and clickable-looking CTA. The promise arrives in the first three seconds as a simple problem statement, while the interface supplies the proof.
Why it works
- The first line is complete by 2.1 seconds; familiar app icons orbit a large central sentence, making the problem legible even with the sound off.
- From about 5.4–15.2 seconds, several different, recognizable UI views demonstrate flexibility more concretely than the narration alone.
- The highest measured replay region is 5.2–5.4 seconds, exactly as the live-action desk gives way to the calendar interface; the reveal appears to invite a second look (inferred).
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 1280×720, 16:9 · 19.0 s · 30 fps |
| Pace | Detector: 1 continuous composite shot, 0 confirmed cuts, 1 uncertain cut at 5.2 s; 0–3.2 cuts/min. Three detected step changes, about 9.5 changes/min. The moving UI creates more perceived change than these counts suggest. |
| Script | 29 measured words · 104 wpm overall, about 140 wpm during speech · five short sentences · no questions |
| Voice | One clear, energetic, mid-register commercial narrator; adult voice archetype |
| On screen | Approx. 0–3.7 s motion graphics; 3.8–5.4 s office user; 5.4–16.4 s animated product UI; 16.4–19 s brand card. These are visible phases within the measured composite shot. |
| Captions | No running subtitles. One centered opening headline, then native UI labels and end-card copy. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal/music-like bed under speech, about 8.9 dB lower by the measurement heuristic; effect details unverified. Integrated −16.9 LUFS, measured true peak +0.2 dBFS. |
| Structure | Pain → human use → four UI demonstrations → branded CTA; CTA starts around 16.4 s. |
