Three Coffee Worlds in 30 Seconds
A premium machine launch turns three drink choices into distinct fantasy worlds before a comic beat and clean product reveal.
Field notes / why it works
Ten cuts in the first 10 seconds move from a store encounter to capsule, brewer, crema, and a vivid first world. Three different settings at 0:09, 0:12, and 0:16 sell variety through feeling; the edit then slows for a character joke and a legible machine reveal at 0:25.4. The most-replayed moment is the large closing slogan and carried box at 0:29.1–0:29.4.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A polished, wide-screen product commercial starts inside a welcoming store, then lets a curious customer try several variants. Each choice transports her into a visually different world before a brief character joke, a clean product lineup, and a memorable closing phrase. The implied promise arrives around 0:04–0:08: one product can create multiple moods or experiences.
Why it works
- The first product choice begins by 0:05, and 10 cuts in the first 10 seconds turn an ordinary store interaction into a fast visual journey.
- Three distinct settings make the range legible without a feature list: bright wheel in the clouds at 0:09, intimate home at 0:12, and sunlit pool at 0:16.
- The edit relaxes to 2.7–4-second shots for the machine and closing line at 0:21–0:30; the strongest replay point is the oversized slogan and box at 0:29.1–0:29.4.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 30.0 s; analyzed copy 640×360 at 25 fps |
| Pace | 20 shots, 19 confirmed cuts, 38 cuts/min; up to 54/min if every uncertain move is a cut. Mean shot 1.5 s, median 1.04 s. |
| Script | Automated French transcript: 73 words, 151 wpm over the full film, 181 wpm during speech; 15 short sentences, 9 questions. Several recognized words are wrong, so use the visible story over literal ASR. |
| Voice | Light, conversational female exchanges and a dry, older male reply (archetypes); spoken dialogue, not a continuous narrator. |
| On screen | Approximately 55% character-led live action, 30% experiential or product footage, 15% packshot and typography (visual estimate). |
| Captions | Small white translated dialogue near lower center; a thin French health notice hugs the bottom edge. Large pink slogan is reserved for the finale. |
| Sound | Speech-forward. Measured pauses are nearly silent; a continuous music bed and cut effects are not clearly supported by the measurements. Integrated −23 LUFS; true peak −8.5 dBFS in analyzed copy. |
| Structure | Store and invitation → three experiential variants → comic interruption → machine reveal → slogan/brand close. Product reveal at 0:25; no explicit click or purchase CTA. |
