A dinner question answered on a smartwatch
A 15-second restaurant scene turns a specific food question into a wristwatch proof shot and a clean product reveal.
Field notes / why it works
The question starts at 0:00.6 before the device is shown, giving the dessert-to-watch insert at 0:03.2–0:05.4 a clear purpose. The most-replayed peak at 0:04.2 falls within that proof sequence, and alternating reaction close-ups carry the exchange until the nearly three-second product card begins at 0:12.1.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A small, recognizable social question becomes a product demonstration inside a tiny character scene. The viewer first wonders whether the product can answer; an insert shows it doing so; a comic reaction makes the answer memorable; the last three seconds name the product.
Why it works
- The question begins at 0:00.6 while the dinner scene withholds the device; the product has a reason to appear.
- The most-replayed window, 0:04.2–0:04.3, is inside the dessert-to-watch proof sequence (0:03.2–0:05.4), where the promise becomes visible.
- The branded packshot waits until 0:12.1, after the human exchange and the wide restaurant callback.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 640×360 source · 23.98 fps · 15.0 s |
| Pace | 6 measured shots, 5 measured cuts (20/min), 4 internal picture changes (36 changes/min total); mean shot 2.5 s. The sheets show additional scene changes within measured shots. |
| Script | 18 transcribed words; 128 wpm across the film, 215 wpm during speech; four short utterances, two questions. The final phrase is low-confidence and should be treated as a reaction beat, not copied dialogue. |
| Voice | Two conversational adult archetypes: curious dinner companion and confident, amused responder; medium-register speech measured overall. |
| On screen | Live-action restaurant scene and faces for about 9 s, watch/dessert proof for about 3 s, final product render/card for about 3 s. Shares are approximate because visual changes occur inside measured shots. |
| Captions | None. Only a small opening logo and final product typography; tiny watch UI text is part of the product demonstration. |
| Sound | Dialogue with quiet space between lines; no measured music bed under speech. Non-speech audio is audible after the final word, but its source is unverified. |
| Structure | Question → physical product proof → comic reaction → return to scene → product card. Payoff begins around 0:03.8; no explicit spoken CTA. |
