A 46-second music-led portfolio montage that opens with a flat-to-3D type reveal and rapidly samples varied motion projects.
Field notes / why it works
The title becomes readable within 0.75 seconds and transforms into dimensional lettering around 0:02.5, matching the opening replay peak at 0:02.3–0:02.8. Seven cuts in the first 10 seconds quickly prove range across illustration, packaging, and abstract work, while the later 2–4 second holds let denser scenes register. The music links 26 visually different shots without requiring narration.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A short, music-led portfolio reel announces the medium with letters that build from flat black type to dimensional objects (0:00–0:04.7), then moves through many unrelated commissions and personal pieces. It promises visual range and execution quality, with the work itself as proof rather than a spoken pitch.
Why it works
- The opening writes “SHOW” letter by letter by 0:00.75, then turns it into textured 3D type by 0:02.5; the most-replayed opening span is 0:02.3–0:02.8.
- The first 20 seconds carry 15 shots, including a fast two-frame burst around 0:12, so each new art direction refreshes attention.
- The sequence spans character animation, packaging, 3D type, UI, illustration, and filmed compositing by 0:27, proving range through finished frames rather than labels.
