The car as a bigger smartphone
A 30-second automotive launch film uses a slow scale reveal, then rapid visual proof of connected features.
Field notes / why it works
A single 5.24-second dark-to-bright car shot lets the familiar-device analogy resolve before the 14 confirmed cuts accelerate the film. The 13.4–16.2-second food-to-map sequence shows a useful outcome and contains the strongest replay peak at 14.4–14.7 seconds; later feature pairs turn abstract claims into visible proof.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A polished, nearly wordless 30-second product film compares a vehicle with a familiar personal device, then makes the comparison tangible through assisted navigation, parking, sound and charging. The opening uses a slow side-profile reveal and large, sparse white type; the middle accelerates into short demonstrations; the end returns to a minimal product-and-logo stage.
Why it works
- The comparison is legible before any narration: the car moves across a dark studio while the first phrase resolves by 1.25 s; the scale twist lands around 3–5 s.
- The 13.4–16.2 s food-to-map sequence turns an abstract built-in assistant into an everyday use case. YouTube’s strongest replay peak is 14.4–14.7 s, during the map transition.
- The film makes successive claims visually: parking views at 16.2–18.4 s, sound at 18.4–22.6 s, electric range and charging at 22.6–26.0 s. Speech covers only 6% of the runtime.

| Pace | 15 shots; 14 confirmed cuts / 28 cuts per minute, up to 34 if three uncertain opening changes are cuts; 30 picture changes per minute; mean shot 2.0 s, median 1.76 s |
| Script | Only three detected spoken words; 101 wpm during speech. The main copy is on screen. |
| Voice | One short, high-register, conversational voice command from an unseen user; no narrator |
| On screen | Product studio imagery, lifestyle inserts, navigation graphic, parking visualization, interior detail, range/charge imagery; no visible presenter |
| Captions | Sparse white headline or feature labels, centered over the relevant picture; no full-sentence subtitles |
| Sound | Driving electronic music (inferred from measurements and comments), roughly 117 BPM with low tempo confidence; measured −14.1 LUFS, −4.5 dBFS true peak |
| Structure | Comparison → capabilities → daily-life use case → rapid feature proof → product reveal and logo; no spoken CTA |
