Listen to Your Own Signal
A street chorus of conflicting advice gives way to a personal watch alert and one readable health metric.
Field notes / why it works
An ordinary 0:00 street scene becomes a rapid chorus of unsolicited advice by 0:01.4, with 18 measured cuts sustaining the bustle. The watch alert at 0:20.6 and readable phone metric at 0:23.0 turn that noise into a specific product payoff; the strongest replay window, 0:22.3–0:22.7, sits on the app transition.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A person walks through a city while strangers give a rapid, increasingly absurd chorus of advice. At 19–24 seconds, their own device supplies a calm, specific signal; two brief lines turn the social pressure into a product promise before a quiet brand close.
Why it works
- The opening gives a social situation before any branding: a wide street at 0:00, three people close to camera by 0:01.2, and overlapping advice by 0:01.4.
- The barrage changes speaker and angle frequently: 18 measured cuts in 35 seconds, with the fastest five second span at 0:15–0:20.
- The reveal at 0:20.6–0:23.9 replaces vague claims with a readable watch alert and app metric. YouTube's strongest replay point, 0:22.3–0:22.7, falls on the move into the phone interface.

| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 35.0 s; analysis frames 640×360 at 23.98 fps |
| Pace | 19 shots · 18 cuts · 30.8 cuts/min measured, up to 37.7 if four uncertain changes are cuts · 1.84 s mean, 1.52 s median shot · 36 picture changes/min including three internal steps |
| Script | 56 detected speech words · 106 wpm across the entire film, about 229 wpm during the advice burst · short, often fragmentary lines; automatic transcript has 11 low confidence words |
| Voice | Ensemble of conversational street archetypes: earnest advice giver, confident passerby, energetic interrupter; a quiet central listener |
| On screen | Approximately 76% live-action street and reaction (including the logo street shot), 9% product/UI close-up, 14% black ending by running time (inferred from sheets) |
| Captions | No running subtitles; two small white sentence overlays near lower center at 0:24.7 and 0:26.1 |
| Sound | Continuous tonal, rhythmic music bed; approximate 114 BPM; dialogue first, then music and visual breathing room; no clear effect on most cuts |
| Structure | Establish → advice chorus → watch interruption → phone proof → two-line reversal → product lockup → street/logo tail; no explicit spoken CTA |
