A Miniature Orchard's Cider Test
A 40-second stop-motion brand film follows a tiny orchard journey into a craft-process proof, suspenseful tasting, and golden pint payoff.
Field notes / why it works
The first three seconds follow a bee and dog through one moving orchard view, before shifts around 0:03.6–0:07.1 reveal the farm, apple inspection, and variety board. Craft claims get physical proof through fruit processing by 0:21; a 4.54-second speech pause makes the tasting verdict at 0:33.6 land before the final 3.33-second pint and tagline.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A whimsical, handcrafted miniature world makes a production standard feel like a story. The viewer follows a tiny moving detail into a place, sees the care behind the product, waits through a tasting pause, then gets a satisfying product and tagline payoff.
Why it works
- The first three seconds follow a bee and dog through one orchard view; later glimpses around 0:03.6, 0:05.4 and 0:07.1 reveal the farm, inspection and variety board without any caption clutter.
- The middle turns an abstract quality claim into visible proof: inspected apple around 0:05, variety board around 0:07, fruit handling around 0:14–0:17, and a tasting ritual around 0:25–0:33.
- A roughly 4.54-second speech pause before the short approval at 0:33.6 gives the verdict weight; the pint and tagline arrive at 0:36.7–0:40.

| Pace | 9 measured shots; 8 confirmed cuts = 12/min. Eleven uncertain fast changes make the plausible range 12–28.5 cuts/min. Four measured internal steps; 18 confirmed picture changes/min. Mean shot 4.45 s, median 3.56 s. |
| Script | 76 spoken words; 120 wpm across the film, about 179 wpm while speaking; 10 short sentences, one question. |
| Voice | Low-register, warm, animated, lightly wry male narrator archetype; spoken dialogue, no character impersonation. |
| On screen | Entirely staged miniature/stop-motion style: orchard and farm wides, tactile close-ups, process tableau, aerial, ensemble, product close-up. |
| Captions | No subtitles. Only practical brand marks/labels and a closing uppercase tagline. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal bed measured about 9.3 dB under voice; no reliable evidence of cut-synced effects. −14.7 LUFS integrated, −4.4 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Moving-world hook → craft proof → process → arrival/tasting → withheld verdict → pint and tagline. |
