Three Everyday Stories for a Folding Phone
A polished phone launch turns design, camera, briefing, and live assistant features into a sequence of small human stories with clear device proof.
Field notes / why it works
A progressive white title holds the station opening until the first cut at 0:03.6, then distinct chapter resets at 0:16, 0:33, 1:00, and 1:37 refresh attention. Across 41 shots, each capability is shown as person, readable device action, and outcome; the 2:28–2:34 product card gives the name and URL room to land.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A polished product announcement starts with a public-place scene and an unanswered product name, then gives a compact beauty reel. Three feature chapters turn specifications into small human situations: a better selfie, a pet owner's morning, and a meal guided by a live assistant. Each chapter alternates the person's experience with close, readable product proof; a clean packshot ends the film.
Why it works
- The opening uses moving people against fixed station doors while the white product name assembles over 0:00–0:03; the first picture cut waits until 0:03.6.
- The film changes proof mode at 0:16 (design), 0:33 (camera), 1:00 (daily briefing), and 1:37 (live assistant), making 154 seconds feel like distinct chapters.
- The object stays tangible: color lineup at 0:22, battery graphic at 0:27, camera preview at 0:34, compact outer screen at 1:09, and assistant UI at 2:18.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 640×360 source analysis at 25 fps · 2:34 |
| Pace | 41 shots; 40 measured cuts, with 3 uncertain changes: 15.6–16.7 cuts/min. 21 in-shot graphic changes; about 23.8 picture changes/min. Mean shot 3.76 s; median 3.0 s. |
| Script | 270 recognized spoken words; 115 wpm across the whole film, about 221 wpm within detected speech; 34 short sentences averaging 7.9 words. The first substantial feature speech starts at 0:34. |
| Voice | Several natural young-adult conversational voices plus an assistant response; speech is scene dialogue and direct address, not one continuous narrator. |
| On screen | Approx. 65% live-action lifestyle and product-in-hand footage, 20% device/UI close-ups, 15% product motion graphics and packshot (visual estimate). |
| Text | Sparse white headline/feature labels and legible device UI; no persistent subtitle system. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal bed (measured), roughly 114 BPM at low confidence; no clear cut-triggered SFX. −16.1 LUFS integrated, −0.8 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Text-led public-place hook → design proof → camera story → daily-use story → assistant story → packshot/URL. |
