A Whole Lot of Phone, Fast
A 73-second product launch film that turns a value promise into a rapid chain of visual feature proofs and comic detours.
Field notes / why it works
A pocket reveal becomes a giant typographic value claim by 0:03.5, establishing the product and premise before the 61-cuts-per-minute feature run. Every claim has a visible payoff, from colour changes at 0:05 to the long cat-camera example at 0:25–0:39, while comic inserts reset the visual rhythm. The most-replayed window at 0:05.1–0:05.8 coincides with a colour swap.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A personable, low-register narrator promises a capable product at an accessible price while an almost breathless chain of miniature demonstrations keeps proving the claim. The edit moves from a human-scale object reveal to kinetic value words, colour options, feature gags, real use cases and a clean product lockup. A repeated “whole lot / lot less” value thought opens and closes the film.
Why it works
- The first 3.5 seconds turns a pocket reveal into a four-cut value proposition: object first, giant words second.
- The middle translates features into odd, specific situations: a cartoon pig on a phone at 0:06.4, scratch impacts at 0:10–0:14, and an extended cat-camera sequence at 0:25–0:39. Specific images carry a fast 202 wpm read.
- Replays peak at 0:05.1–0:05.8, when a colour selection changes the product; later peaks around 0:42.3 and 0:48.9 align with photo/storage and translation demonstrations. These are visible payoffs rather than abstract claim cards.

| Pace | 75 shots, 74 cuts, 60.9 cuts/min; 6 internal graphic changes, 65.8 picture changes/min; mean shot 0.97 s, median 0.67 s. |
| Script | 211 measured words, 202 wpm overall and 218 wpm while speaking; 5 long run-on sentences, no questions, roughly 3.3 uses of “you” per 100 words. Automated transcript contains errors, so treat word counts as approximate. |
| Voice | Friendly, quick, dry-humoured adult narrator; low register, crisp emphasis, lightly conversational delivery. No visible presenter. |
| On screen | Predominantly live-action product/lifestyle footage; short bursts of kinetic type, clean product renders, screen UI and graphic inserts. No full-time subtitles. |
| Text | Giant white italic all-caps value words on black; small clean white product labels over scenes; sparse feature labels; closest free matches Inter Black Italic and Inter Medium. |
| Sound | Continuous, playful, driving music beneath speech; measured bed around 6.6 dB below voice. Comic accents are suggested by the imagery, but discrete effects are not confirmed by the measurement. |
| Structure | 7 beats; price/value promise by 0:03.5, rapid demonstrations through 1:00, value reprise at 1:00–1:03, product lockup and tail through 1:13. No spoken CTA. |
