A Robot Boxing Challenge Escalates to a Second Opponent
An 85-second robot combat announcement uses sustained real-time action, escalating opponents, and a late event reveal.
Field notes / why it works
A face-off title states the premise in the first 0.4 seconds, then real-time bag footage immediately supplies proof. The challenge escalates from a human sparring partner around 0:07 to another robot around 0:50, with visible setbacks and a result near 1:11. The strongest replay peak, 1:21.7–1:22.6, lands on the closing information cards, where the event announcement gives the action a next step.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A wide-screen product action film opens with a bold title and a provocative performance image, immediately moves into a real-time test, then raises the stakes through human and product-to-product sparring. It withholds explanation until a brief closing announcement and brand card. Its promise is visible at 0:00: this machine can take part in a fight-like test.
Why it works
- The title and human-versus-robot image establish the premise in the first 0.4 seconds; moving test footage starts at 0:00.4.
- A training bag (0:00.4–0:07.2), human opponent (from about 0:07), knockdown (about 0:15), and second robot (about 0:50) create escalating proof without narration.
- The highest replay peak is 1:21.7–1:22.6, when the action gives way to the safety/availability message. The second and third peaks, near 1:10 and 1:03, coincide with the late robot-versus-robot finish.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 1:25.0 · source measured at 640×360, 25 fps |
| Pace | 12 detected shots, 11 cuts, 7.8–14.1 possible cuts/min including uncertain motion changes; mean shot 7.09 s, median 5.12 s; constant subject movement inside long takes |
| Script | No intelligible spoken words; text is an opening title and closing information cards |
| Voice | None; speech detection produced punctuation only and is unreliable here |
| On screen | Almost entirely live-action robot test/sparring footage; roughly 4 s closing text and logo; no talking head or conventional captions |
| Captions | None over action; plain white informational lines on a near-black end card |
| Sound | Continuous tonal, music-like bed measured around −19.6 LUFS integrated; exact instrumentation unclear from measurements; no clear per-cut effects |
| Structure | Title → solo capability test → human sparring → robot-versus-robot escalation → safety/event notice → logo; payoff in late fight and announcement at 1:21–1:23 |
