A Small Life, a Rollover Test
A cinematic safety film places a baby in a calm foreground while an overturned car and brief crash footage make the protection claim tangible.
Field notes / why it works
The first 6.6 seconds show a baby in a stark test-like space before any narration, creating a question that the scene must answer. A 3-second burst of rollover footage at 0:16.4–0:19.4 changes the stakes, and the overturned car enters the baby's background near the most-replayed point at 0:23.4–0:23.8. The 11.1-second final wide shot gives the prevention and backup-protection message room to settle.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A quiet, bright foreground subject occupies a dark industrial space. The camera gradually reveals a much larger source of risk behind it; brief real-world proof interrupts the staged scene; then the film returns to the foreground subject and resolves the product's promise. It sells the consequence of a safety feature through scale and contrast, without a feature diagram or a conventional demonstration.
Why it works
- The first 6.6 s let the viewer study a baby on a white platform before any speech; the controlled setting and an ominous empty background create an open question.
- The risk becomes tangible at 0:16.4–0:19.4 with two very short rollover inserts, then the staged overturned car enters the baby's background by about 0:22–0:25. This is the visual payoff to the opening.
- The most-replayed peak is 0:23.4–0:23.8, when the baby faces the car. The final 11.1 s hold the widened composition long enough for the protective message and brand to register.

| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 40.9 s · source measured at 640×360, 25 fps |
| Pace | 9 shots, 8 cuts, 11.7 cuts/min; mean shot 4.54 s, median 3.0 s. Detector found 17 internal picture steps, 36.7 total changes/min; several late steps appear to be subtle framing or graphic changes. |
| Script | 56 recognized words, 5 sentences; 101 wpm over full film, about 166 wpm during speech. Transcript has apparent recognition errors, so use its timing rather than exact wording. |
| Voice | One low-register, measured adult narrator; starts at 0:06.6, with expressive emphasis on the contrast and safety claim. |
| On screen | About 93% staged live-action lab scene, 7% rollover proof inserts (estimated from shot durations). No presenter or dialogue on camera. |
| Captions | No running subtitles. Opening has a small, thin outlined information card; ending uses a spaced white brand wordmark. |
| Sound | Continuous subdued tonal bed under narration; no clearly measured impact effects at cuts. −13.2 LUFS integrated, −0.7 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Quiet setup → scale contrast → risk footage → prevention claim → protection contingency → brand resolution; no explicit CTA. |
