An 18-second, nearly black product teaser that saves its only blue accent for the moment before a release-date card.
Field notes / why it works
A near-black opening yields its first highlight around 1.2 seconds, making the viewer work to identify the object. Three visual steps sustain a 12.68-second macro sequence, while the brief blue glow at 12.2–12.5 seconds precedes the date card and the measured replay peak near 12.9–13.1 seconds.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A polished object emerges from near-black in fragments. The viewer gets no explanation or complete product view; moving reflections reveal its shape, one coloured detail supplies the payoff, and a spare date card turns the mystery into an announcement.
Why it works
- The first 1.2 seconds are almost black, then a soft reflection exposes only part of the contour; the missing whole creates the question.
- The first hard cut waits until 12.68 seconds. Shifts at about 1.2, 7.0, and 12.0 seconds keep the long macro sequence moving without breaking its controlled mood.
- The blue accent at 12.2–12.5 seconds sits at the measured most-replayed peak around 12.9–13.1 seconds, immediately before the date card. The close timing suggests viewers revisit the reveal and transition (inferred).
