Phone (4b) Magnetic Product Film
A silent, high-key phone launch film that moves from an inverted overhead puzzle through rapid human handoffs to a three-colour packshot.
Field notes / why it works
The first 2.5 seconds turn a tiny inverted overhead figure into a recognizable phone user, creating a visual question without a headline. From 0:12.3 to 0:33.0, short human-product shots rotate through blue, white and black variants before a clear three-phone payoff at 0:34.4; the most-replayed point is the sparse product-name passage at 0:37.0–0:37.4.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A 39-second horizontal launch film sells a phone as an object people are drawn toward. It opens with an odd, distant overhead human image, then lets a bright product pull a small cast into exaggerated high-key close-ups and handoffs before a three-colour packshot and tiny brand card. The promise becomes legible when the phone appears near 0:02.5, and unmistakable with the floating blue product around 0:05.6–0:06.2.
Why it works
- The first 2.5 seconds make a person look tiny and inverted; the visual question earns time before any copy or feature list.
- From 0:12.3 to 0:33.0, fast changes of people, hand positions, and blue/white/black phones repeatedly return the eye to the device; the measured total is 12 cuts in 39 seconds.
- The complete blue/white/black lineup at 0:34.7–0:36.3 is the main payoff. YouTube's strongest replay point is 0:37.0–0:37.4, on the sparse product-name/end-card passage, though the reason for replays is unknown.

| Reference pattern | |
|---|---|
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 1280×720, 16:9 · 39.0 s · 25 fps |
| Pace | 13 measured shots, 12 cuts (18.5/min), four internal picture changes (24.6 total changes/min); mean 3.0 s, median 1.92 s. First measured cut 0:12.3, longest measured shot 12.32 s. |
| Script | No reliable narration or dialogue. Machine transcript has seven low-confidence words, including a copyright phrase that does not fit the images; treat as transcription noise. Product/end-card text carries the message. |
| Voice | No discernible speaking role in the supplied evidence; performers act silently. |
| On screen | About 75% people interacting with the phone, 15% isolated/three-phone product views, 10% near-empty title/brand cards (visual estimate from the sheets). Extreme overhead, waist-level and face close-ups, then front-facing lineup. |
| Captions | None. Two tiny centered end-card lines only, after 0:36.6. |
| Sound | Continuous, loud, tonal music-like bed; rough 144 BPM at 0:00–0:28.6 (low-confidence heuristic). No clear cut-synced effects. Measured −8.1 LUFS integrated and +1.3 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Visual puzzle → product exposure → cast/object choreography → hero reach → three-variant reveal → product name and brand/site. No spoken CTA. |
