Sonar Kinetic-Type Funding Announcement
A music-led SaaS brand film that turns brisk type and stock metaphors into a held $12M Series A reveal.
Field notes / why it works
The opening assembles a business claim in short type fragments, then flips a scale word onto navy at 1.25 seconds and into footage-filled letters at 1.5 seconds. At 10.9 seconds, the overlooked-team line moves onto live-action office footage, matching the strongest replay window (10.8–11.3 seconds). The edit then slows from seven cuts in the first 10 seconds to a 10.17-second final shot, giving the funding figure and proof marks time to register.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A 16:9, music-led brand film makes text the main character. It opens with a business ambition, reframes who does the hard work, asks a product-shaped question, and resolves in a funding announcement. Sparse stock footage and playful geometric marks keep the continuous type sequence from feeling like a slide deck.
Why it works
- The first 3 seconds build a sentence one phrase at a time, then enlarge a single word over a navy card at 0:01–0:02; the unfinished thought pulls the viewer forward.
- At 10.9 seconds, the phrase about overlooked workers moves onto live-action team footage. That moment sits inside the strongest replay window, 10.8–11.3 seconds.
- The final 10-second card reverses the earlier rapid pacing and gives the $12M Series A claim, investor marks, and small supporting line enough time to read (37.9–48.0).

|---|---|
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 48.0 s · measured file 640×360 at 24 fps |
| Pace | 19 shots, 18 cuts, 22.5 cuts/min; 7 changes within shots, 31.2 picture changes/min; mean shot 2.53 s, median 2.04 s |
| Script | On-screen phrases rather than speech; no reliable spoken-word count or WPM. Whisper's three isolated words are low-confidence music matches. |
| Voice | No confirmed voice; the message is read as kinetic type. |
| On screen | Approximately 70% designed type/graphic cards, 20% footage composites, 10% dark interstitial or logo cards (inferred from sampled frames). |
| Captions | No subtitles. The central headline is the script: usually 1–5 bold words, with one large or colored keyword. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal music bed, roughly 117 BPM; no reliable evidence of cut-synced effects. Measured −8.9 LUFS integrated, +3.1 dBFS reported true peak. |
| Structure | Ambition → overlooked audience → problem/product question → brand turn → announcement and proof. Payoff starts about 39.2 s; no separate spoken CTA. |
