Glasses guide a first-time espresso attempt
A hands-free assistant helps a novice make espresso through a tight sequence of POV guidance and visible actions.
Field notes / why it works
The first 3.84 seconds put a moving portafilter and a novice's problem on screen before the glasses reveal. Three quick shots from 3.8–7.8 seconds explain activation, then POV guidance is matched to actual hand movements; the most-replayed interval at 22.3–22.6 seconds is the cup-placement action before the visible espresso payoff.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
Open on a practical task already in progress. A novice admits the obstacle; a wearable assistant is activated; its instructions are demonstrated immediately on the physical object. The payoff is the task becoming easy, shown in the same space rather than claimed in a feature list.
Why it works
- The first 3.84 seconds stay on the espresso machine and moving portafilter while the speaker states the problem; the task is legible before the product explanation.
- The 3.8–7.8 second run shows glasses in the hand, on the face, and a temple tap before returning to a first-person machine view. Each shot answers how the assistance is invoked.
- The replay peak at 22.3–22.6 seconds falls as the cup is moved from the machine top to the spout. The instructions have become a visible action and a near-term payoff.
