A Breakup Letter Becomes a Phone Reveal
A silent, typed assistant exchange builds to a glossy phone reveal and a spare launch-date card.
Field notes / why it works
The tiny greeting at 0:00–0:03 turns an almost black frame into a conversation viewers must read, then the request gains clauses until 0:19.6 while withholding the replacement. The phone rotates into a recognisable hero view at 0:21–0:23; the 0:21.9–0:22.2 interval is the strongest replay peak. A white date card around 0:26 makes the next action clear after the visual payoff.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A black screen behaves like a quiet chat with an AI assistant. A typed request slowly reveals that the speaker is breaking up with an old device; before any response appears, a glossy new product turns toward the camera and resolves the joke. A spare date card closes the tease.
Why it works
- The first second offers just a greeting and an unfinished assistant reply, making the viewer read ahead (0:00–0:02).
- The letter accrues in several steps from 0:03.8 to 0:19.6, withholding the identity of the replacement while the text supplies the story.
- The 0:21.9–0:22.2 camera reveal is the strongest replay peak by a wide margin; the answer is visual and arrives after a long textual setup.
