Olympic Gold Medal Chart Relay

A silent six-panel gold-medal chart animation turns historical peaks and collapses into a 24-second comparison.

Field notes / why it works

The title, country, metric, and first value are visible at 0:00, while the moving dot and changing year/value keep a single 23.6-second shot active. Five panel changes arrive about four seconds apart, and the sharp Soviet graph change around 0:07 aligns with the strongest replay peak at 0:07.0–0:07.2.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

One locked vertical dashboard cycles through categories, drawing a line chart as the year and value count forward. A compact title promises a comparison immediately; peaks, collapses, and the next category become the reveals. The viewer can read it without sound or narration.

Why it works

  • The premise appears in frame one: a white title pill, country label, and an empty chart marked with years and a scale (0:00).
  • The moving dot, growing line, filled area, and large year/value pair provide continuous change even though there are 0 cuts in 23.6 s.
  • The sharp Soviet line drop around 0:07 is the top replay point (0:07.0–0:07.2); comments also ask about the discontinuity.
