Audi A2 e-tron detail-first reveal
A quiet electric-car launch film that builds from design macros and city glimpses to a full reveal and sparse text ending.
Field notes / why it works
A lamp macro at 0:00 starts the reveal without exposition, while seven cuts in the first 10 seconds alternate design details with city and human-use context. The first clear cabin view at 0:12.6 coincides with the strongest replay interval, and a full top-down view arrives near 0:18.8. The edit then slows into a 15.7-second minimal ending, giving the benefit line and product name room to land.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A quiet, widescreen launch film lets the viewer discover a product through tight design details, brief lifestyle context, and a few increasingly complete views. It saves its verbal promise for restrained text near the end: a benefit line, then the product name. The product is visible from frame one, but the full side profile and written positioning are delayed.
Why it works
- At 0:00–0:01.3, the illuminated front detail fills the frame before any title, establishing a visual question: what is this object?
- The first ten seconds contain seven cuts; alternating exterior details, a city glimpse, a cyclist, and a front view makes the product feel designed for a real environment.
- Pace falls after 0:21.4, leaving roughly 15.7 seconds for a pale end field and two small text reveals; this contrast makes the positioning feel considered. The most-replayed interval at 0:12.7–0:13.1 coincides with the first clean cabin reveal.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 41.0 s · measured file 640×360 at 25 fps |
| Pace | 16 measured shots, 15 cuts, 21.9 cuts/min; 21.9–24.9 cuts/min allowing two uncertain changes; mean 2.56 s, median 1.5 s. Four internal picture changes give 27.8 changes/min. |
| Script | No spoken script. Two brief on-screen end cards: positioning line around 0:30 and product name around 0:33. |
| Voice | None. The isolated automatic transcript token at 0:39.6 is unsupported by the sheets and is treated as a detection error. |
| On screen | Predominantly product close-ups and studio views, with moving city inserts, one human-use glimpse, cabin shots, and minimal title cards. |
| Captions | No dialogue captions. Small, centered, dark-gray sans-serif end text on warm off-white. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal/music-like bed measured around −23.4 dBFS; calm cinematic feel (inferred). No clear cut-synced effects. Integrated −15.0 LUFS; true peak −1.4 dBFS. |
| Structure | Detail hook → city/use montage → fuller product and interior → overhead and badge payoff → two text cards → dark stop. No spoken CTA. |
