The Better Question and Folding City Reveal
A cinematic product teaser that holds old devices in darkness, poses a challenge, then bursts into a bright, impossible city.
Field notes / why it works
The near-black opening delays object recognition while a question begins at 1.74 seconds, creating curiosity without a title card. A 31.48-second dark sequence gives way to six clustered cuts after 31.5 seconds; the bright city and then the nearly empty white card make the change in pace and scale feel decisive.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A cinematic teaser asks why a familiar thing should change while obsolete devices drift through darkness. It reframes “good enough” as the problem, then escapes into a fast, sunlit impossible city and a minimal invitation. The product stays withheld; the promise is a larger world unlocked by change.
Why it works
- The first 2 seconds are nearly black, while a low voice starts at 1.74 s with a pointed question; the image has to be resolved by watching.
- One 31.48-second shot builds an old-technology motif before six cuts between 31.5 and 40.0 s switch the pace abruptly.
- The voiced question resolves on a stark card at 23–27 s; the bright city arrives afterward, turning an abstract claim into a visual payoff.
