A Runner’s Hometown Miles
A 60-second branded runner portrait that turns local training routes into a first-marathon story through city imagery and intimate narration.
Field notes / why it works
The first 3 seconds combine a landmark, four cuts, a centered title, and a first-person marathon claim, making the place and stakes clear quickly. Landmark views give way to the runner at 0:09, then concrete training distances at 0:30–0:36 build toward the race-day route and a personal payoff at 0:52–0:55. A nearly five-second black brand card lets the story resolve before the sponsor mark.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A first-person runner connects a forthcoming marathon to the city and everyday routes that formed her. The film makes that connection through landmarks, movement, and an intimate voice, while the sponsor stays visually light until the end card.
Why it works
- The hook gives a personal stake by 0:03.6: the runner would choose this city for her first marathon. A five-shot opening moves from recognizable landmark to title card.
- The film moves from place to person: architecture at 0:05–0:13, then running details and portraits from 0:14 onward. The running feels grounded in a lived route rather than a generic race montage.
- At 0:30 the runner lists training distances, then imagines a new race-day route at 0:38. The ending at 0:52–0:55 turns those ordinary miles into the emotional payoff before the clean brand card.
