Campus Ensemble Accessibility Film
A cinematic student musical that embeds accessibility features in everyday campus scenes and builds to a large ensemble finale.
Field notes / why it works
The first 8.8 seconds stay with a student hearing consequential news, giving the story a personal stake before any rapid editing. Brief device details at 0:11–0:14, 0:53–0:59 and 1:22–1:39 show tools within real tasks. The cast and music expand into a group payoff at 2:08–2:45; its 2:08–2:10 reveal is the highest measured replay peak.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A student receives a welcome message, then a group of students carries a musical argument through campus life: ordinary needs and ambitions deserve usable tools. Product interfaces appear as brief, concrete proof inside the story, while the cast, scale and music build toward a communal ending. The promise is first implied by the acceptance message at 0:00–0:04 and fully expressed by the ensemble finale around 2:08–2:40.
Why it works
- The 0:00–0:08.8 opening holds on one phone and face, giving a personal stake before the first cut; the song then widens the world.
- UI close-ups at 0:11–0:14, 0:29–0:33, 0:53 and 1:23–1:39 make the tool visible inside real student tasks rather than pausing for a feature list.
- The cast expands into blue-robed group singing around 2:08–2:10, the strongest measured replay peak. The final 37.3-second segment moves through performer and ensemble images to sustain the payoff; automatic cut detection appears to group several visual scenes together.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 2:50.5 · measured file 640×360 at 23.98 fps; deliver a new master at 1920×1080. |
| Pace | 31 measured shots, 30 cuts, 10.6 cuts/min; 6 internal picture steps, 12.7 changes/min; mean 5.5 s, median 1.92 s. Long musical tableaux skew the mean. |
| Script | 332 automatically transcribed words, roughly 117/min over the full film or 171/min in detected vocal passages. Sung words are often mistranscribed; treat counts as approximate. |
| Voice | Several student-aged speaking and singing voices; conversational dialogue grows into bright, rhythmic solo and group singing. Do not design one imitation voice. |
| On screen | Predominantly live-action campus narrative (about 80–90% by time, inferred), with short diegetic device and interface close-ups; no editorial presenter. |
| Captions | No burned editorial captions in the sampled frames. Text appears mainly on devices and in the cover graphic. Provide a separate accurate subtitle track for a new release. |
| Sound | Music-forward original-song structure (inferred from frames and transcript); integrated −16 LUFS, true peak −2 dBFS; rough beat estimate 170 BPM or 85 half-time. |
| Structure | Personal invitation → product-enabled moments → self-definition refrain → everyday social friction → larger communal refrain and final statement. No spoken sales CTA. |
