Act-Two's Performance-to-Character Launch Film
A motion-capture launch montage that turns plain-set performances into varied animated characters before stating the product claim.
Field notes / why it works
The white-set performer and clapperboard in the first 3.8 seconds make the cut to a torchlit animated creature instantly read as input-to-output proof; that reveal at 0:03.6–0:04.3 is the top replay peak. Twenty-eight measured shots across 71.6 seconds vary character, medium, and setting while preserving expressive faces and hands. The one-line claim waits until 0:59, when viewers have already seen the range.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A cold open shows ordinary people delivering tiny, expressive performances against a blank white set. A clapperboard and an immediate cut to an impossible animated character establish the transformation; a rapid gallery then proves the same capability across different characters and visual styles. The explicit product claim waits until 0:59, after the visual proof.
Why it works
- The 0:02.5 clapperboard makes the 0:03.8 switch from performer to animated creature legible as a before/after without an explanation. The 0:03.6–0:04.3 reveal is the strongest replay peak.
- The 0:11.5–0:59 gallery changes character, genre, lighting, and medium roughly every 1–3 seconds (28 measured shots; 22.6 cuts/min), so each example poses a fresh “what will this become?” question.
- Face, hands, and body movement remain the constant across a 2D man, fantasy creatures, a mime, a cowboy, and animals. The sparse 0:59 claim card lets viewers infer the capability before it is named.

| Pace | 28 detected shots, 27 detected cuts, 22.6 cuts/min; 26 picture changes/min including four internal changes; mean shot 2.56 s, median 2.19 s. The white-background opening contains visible performer swaps the detector undercounts. |
| Script | 97 transcribed words, fragmented into 23 short utterances; 84 wpm over the whole film and about 188 wpm during speech. Transcript confidence is low for 28 words, so treat dialogue as texture rather than a continuous script. |
| Voice | Multiple performer archetypes: casual, theatrical, comic, and startled; character dialogue and reactions, no continuous narrator. |
| On screen | Opening live-action white cyclorama and slate (~0:00–0:03.8); mostly generated or animated character portraits and medium shots thereafter; one white text card at 0:59. |
| Captions | None. Dialogue is not subtitled. One centered claim card and a logo end card. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal music-like bed (inferred by audio analysis), dialogue snippets, character/scene sound; no consistent cut accent detected. Measured −15.6 LUFS integrated; reported +1.6 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Performer cold open → first transformed reveal → broad example gallery → one-line claim → last character → logo. No spoken CTA. |
