Dive Buddy: underwater proof film
A 72-second camera accessory launch that turns spectacular underwater footage into three visually proven product benefits.
Field notes / why it works
Sharks fill the first second and the camera rig appears by 0:02, making the product the answer to an immediate visual question. Three use cases are shown through visible action at 0:09–0:20, 0:25–0:33, and 0:34–0:45, while the 0:47–0:53 beauty shot gives the film a payoff before the clean product card. The 33-shot edit keeps the first ten seconds especially brisk, then slows for proof and the call to action.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A cinematic product launch film drops the viewer directly into a vivid environment, then reveals a small piece of gear as the reason a difficult shot is possible. Alternating product close-ups, human use, and spectacular results, it explains features in short on-screen labels and lets the footage carry the promise.
Why it works
- The first 1.5 seconds place sharks inches from the lens; the product appears by 1.9 seconds, turning spectacle into a product question.
- At 6.8–8.3 seconds, close-ups of the handle and a hand manipulating the rig make the unusual product legible after the hero reveal at 3.8–6.8 seconds.
- Three distinct benefits get proof scenes: hands-free at 9.2–13.3 seconds, seabed tripod at 25.2–33.1 seconds, and 360 capture/reframing at 33.8–45.4 seconds.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 72 seconds · source 640×360 at 25 fps |
| Pace | 33 measured shots, 32 cuts; 26.7–35 cuts/min allowing uncertain changes; 30.8 definite picture changes/min; mean shot 2.18 s, median 1.56 s |
| Script | Sparse feature labels, roughly 2–5 words each. The machine transcript's 21 words are low-confidence and inconsistent with the visible edit; do not use its 23 overall wpm as a narration target. |
| Voice | No reliable spoken narration established; build as a music-led, text-led film. Ambient human sound is optional. |
| On screen | Predominantly live-action underwater wide shots, intercut with product macro shots and a brief black product end card. No talking head. |
| Captions | White bold sans-serif feature labels near the lower left, sometimes with a smaller regular subline; no dialogue subtitles. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal music-like bed; estimated 117 BPM. Cut accents are likely (inferred), though the source is unavailable to verify their character. Measured −15.9 LUFS integrated. |
| Structure | Visual hook → product reveal → three use/feature proof blocks → beauty montage → product end card → CTA end screen. |
