A folding phone revealed through everyday use
A three-minute foldable-phone launch film that delays its first cut for nearly a minute while the device and its UI keep changing.
Field notes / why it works
The device appears by 0:00.6, then opens near 0:11; that reveal coincides with the strongest replay interval, 0:09.3–0:11.2. The first detected cut is delayed until 0:57.9, but 14 internal changes in that opening shot keep supplying new visual proof. Engineering close-ups at 1:20–1:51 give way to faster human camera examples around 2:05–2:20, so the film moves from mechanism to outcome.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A plainspoken narrator introduces a familiar object, then reveals that it changes form at about 0:11. The film keeps proving new uses of that change, moves into materials and performance, then shows cameras and human situations before naming the product near the end.
Why it works
- The promise is visual: the object enters by 0:00.6, then the central fold opens near 0:11. That interval is the strongest replay peak, 0:09.3–0:11.2.
- The first detected cut waits until 0:57.9, yet 14 changes inside that shot keep replacing the evidence: home screen, side-by-side apps, video, and interaction.
- The film alternates use and engineering: split-screen tasks at 0:23–0:40, construction at 1:20–1:41, and self-standing camera use at 2:06–2:16. Each claim gets a physical demonstration.

| Pace | 22 detected shots; 21 cuts; 6.8–7.1 cuts/min including one uncertain event; 51 definite picture changes, 16.4/min; mean shot 8.48 s, median 4.61 s |
| Script | 353 transcribed words; 119 wpm over the whole film, 163 wpm during speech; 27 sentences averaging 13.1 words |
| Voice | One low-register, conversational adult narrator, measured median pitch 99 Hz, with animated emphasis and measured pauses |
| On screen | Mostly clean product/UI demonstration and close-up renders, followed by shorter live-action lifestyle and camera examples; no talking head |
| Captions | No editorial subtitles. Text comes from device UI and the cover/title treatment. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal music bed (three tracks credited in the description); no clear systematic impact on cuts; −16.2 LUFS integrated, −0.8 dBFS true peak |
