A Coding Agent from Issue to Merge
A dark, mascot-led launch film turns a coding agent announcement into a visible issue-to-merge workflow.
Field notes / why it works
The small glowing mascot holds attention through the first 5.45 seconds, then the film moves into a real IDE and issue workflow. Sparse cards at 0:20, 0:28.8 and 0:33.9 make the task stages easy to follow, while the 0:37–0:42 review and merge screens substantiate the final claim.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A small glowing character opens a dark, widescreen product film. Sparse white text then sets up a developer problem, while real UI screens carry the proof: start with an issue, assign work, watch changes appear, review, and merge. The promise becomes explicit at 0:20–0:22 and resolves in the final title at 0:43.
Why it works
- A moving character on almost empty navy holds the first 5.45 seconds without a cut; the fast entrance at 0:00–0:03 builds curiosity before any UI appears.
- The 0:20–0:22 text turns that curiosity into a concrete delegation use case, then 0:22–0:27 shows the actual issue list and assignment control.
- The viewer sees a complete task loop: build status at 0:30–0:33, review at 0:37–0:40, merge at 0:40–0:42, and a concise end claim at 0:43.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 50.0 s · source 640×360 at 29.97 fps |
| Pace | 7 measured shots · 6 cuts / 7.2 cuts per minute · 9 internal steps / 18 total picture changes per minute · mean shot 7.15 s, median 5.45 s |
| Script | No explanatory narration; six short text beats carry the story. The automatic transcript seems to catch phrases in the vocal music (inferred), so its 34 words / 44 overall wpm are not a narration target. |
| Voice | No visible presenter; bright, highly animated vocal phrases are part of the soundtrack (inferred). |
| On screen | Roughly 55% dark UI screen capture, 25% dark text cards, 20% animated mascot / end frame (inferred from the sheet). |
| Captions | No speech subtitles. Centered, one-line white intertitles and compact native UI labels. |
| Sound | Tonal music bed throughout active section, roughly 121 BPM (low-confidence estimate), with vocal phrases in opening (inferred). Integrated −14.0 LUFS; measured true peak +0.2 dBFS. |
| Structure | 5 beats: animated lure → environment/setup → assign → observe/review → end claim. Final claim at 0:43; no direct on-screen CTA. |
