Search turns home-court factors into an arena montage

A 30-second Google Search sports ad turns a typed comparison and four-row AI result into rapid, location-specific arena proof.

Field notes / why it works

The opening turns a night-arena spectacle into a typed question by 0:03, then a four-row Search result at 0:07 maps the montage. Thirty shots in 30 seconds tie altitude, pressure, legacy and noise to distinct footage, while the final wordless crowd run resolves on the co-branded end card at 0:28.3.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A cinematic question about basketball's toughest home courts becomes a search query, then a compact AI Mode comparison. Four named factors are matched to fast arena and crowd footage. The viewer gets the feeling of the answer while the product appears as the way to organize it.

Why it works

  • The 0:00–0:03.9 opening gives a visceral arena image, a voice fragment, and a typed question before showing any result.
  • The 0:05.9–0:08.6 search result provides a simple four-row map; 0:08.6–0:23.3 turns each row into location-specific proof.
  • A mean 1.0-second shot and 58–68 cuts/minute keep energy high; the 0:28.8–0:29.1 replay peak is on the NBA/Google end card, though replay alone does not prove why viewers returned there.

Pace30 shots; 29 certain cuts plus 5 uncertain changes = 57.9–67.9 cuts/min; mean 1.0 s, median 0.83 s; first cut 1.55 s
Script52 detected spoken words; 134 wpm over runtime, about 206 wpm while speech is active; nine short utterances; one question; some transcription is unreliable under crowd sound
VoiceSeveral excited sports-voice fragments (inferred from shifting delivery), high energy, not a continuous explainer narration
On screenApproximately 80% arena, game, city and fan footage; 10% search UI; 10% transition/end card (visual estimate from sheets)
CaptionsLarge white search query at 0:02–0:05; thin white comparison labels across 0:08.6–0:22; no word-by-word subtitles
SoundContinuous tonal bed measured near −20 dBFS, mixed with arena ambience and short voice bites; no clear cut-synced effects; −14.3 LUFS integrated, −1.5 dBFS true peak
StructureArena/question → search answer → four proof factors → crowd crescendo → co-branded hard stop; no spoken CTA
