Field notes / why it works

The opening starts speaking at 0:00 over a legible guarded facility, establishes catastrophic stakes by about 0:08, and turns huge quantities into a pyramid comparison by 0:25. The 0:42 historical reset, three-stage escalation at 2:43–2:53, and diagram at 4:11–4:45 renew attention; the comic blast around 5:01–5:09 is the strongest replay peak in the measured six minutes. The named title only appears at 5:40, leaving a clear reason to continue.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A polished, narrator-led 2D explainer opens on a concrete secret and an extreme outcome, then backs up to show the historical conditions that made the outcome possible. Bright, friendly vector characters carry grim stakes; numerical comparisons, a human-scale context shift, an escalating rivalry and a delayed title reveal keep renewing curiosity.

Why it works

  • The narration starts at 0:00 over an instantly legible guarded facility. By 0:08 it has named a civilization-scale consequence, while the first composition holds for 4.0 seconds.
  • Scale becomes visual: an explosive pyramid at 0:25, years and casualty counts from 0:46–1:18, and a growing arsenal from 2:43–2:53. There are 39 number mentions in the measured six minutes.
  • A comic game-table detonation at 5:01–5:09 is the strongest replay peak within this measured section; it interrupts the sober explanation before the delayed “final bomb” chapter card at 5:40.
