A Journey to Meet Your Shoes
A cinematic 30-second wool-shoe ad turns material provenance into a deadpan journey and delayed sheep reveal.
Field notes / why it works
The first 4 seconds use shoe POV and a barbershop scene without dialogue, creating a visual question. A dry 0:04–0:18 warning clashes with the protagonist's expanding journey, then three rapid footstep shots at 0:18–0:20 lead into the sheep reveal at 0:21 and a five-second brand/material tag at 0:25.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A quiet, cinematic mini-story takes a literal product claim absurdly seriously: a customer journeys to meet the source of an everyday object. A dry narrator argues against the trip while the images show the character doing exactly that; the product and its material are named only after the visual punchline.
Why it works
- The first 4 seconds show shoe POV, a barber, and a departure before speech begins, opening a visual question without explaining it.
- The narration says the trip is a bad idea while the customer keeps going (0:04–0:18); the disagreement between words and action carries the joke.
- The sheep enters at 0:21, the awkward greeting lands around 0:23.6, and the brand/material payoff waits until 0:25–0:30.
